The state of Alaska is quit strict in regards to ATV recreation. Safety equipment such as helmets and gear is required in all locations private and public property. Parks have strict regulations on off-road vehicles which includes an ATV. Driving in parks are limited to designated areas and tracks. Reserves are off limits to ATV and can get you into a serious trouble if you get caught driving in such areas.
Buying an ATV in Alaska demands greatly of distributor presence, avoid Japanese or Chinese brands that don’t keep stock on parts. Shipping will set you back a lot if your not careful with the brand you buy. Anchorage has almost all the major brands but I found limited stock on some foreign brands and was force to pay additional for shipping.
